Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) announced a new light emitting diode (LED) lamp joint reference design with Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE).
The new A19 60-watt dimmable LED lamp reference design combines the Cree® XLamp® LEDs and Marvell® 88EM8183 deep-dimming TRIAC LED driver integrated circuit (IC), enabling original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original device manufacturers (ODMs) to offer the highest compatibility with existing dimmers. The new design delivers industry-leading deep dimming performance with system efficacy of more than 75 lumens per watt. The reference design also helps to drastically reduce LED light bulb costs and limit customer returns that are attributed to consumer dissatisfaction with the light's dimming capabilities.
