L Brands (LB) Reports 1% Increase in Comps for Oct. 2016; Reaffirms Q3 Outlook

L Brands, Inc. (NYSE: LB) reported net sales of $756.7 million for the four weeks ended Oct. 29, 2016, an increase of 3 percent, compared to net sales of $735.6 million for the four weeks ended Oct. 31, 2015. Comparable sales increased 1 percent for the four weeks ended Oct. 29, 2016.

The company reported net sales of $2.581 billion for the 13 weeks ended Oct. 29, 2016, an increase of 4 percent compared to net sales of $2.482 billion for the 13 weeks ended Oct. 31, 2015. Comparable sales increased 2 percent for the 13 weeks ended Oct. 29, 2016.

The company reported net sales of $8.085 billion for the 39 weeks ended Oct. 29, 2016, an increase of 4 percent compared to net sales of $7.759 billion for the 39 weeks ended Oct. 31, 2015. Comparable sales increased 3 percent for the 39 weeks ended Oct. 29, 2016.

As previously announced, the company now expects third quarter earnings per share of about $0.40, versus its previous guidance of $0.40 to $0.45 and last year’s result of $0.55. The company will provide fourth quarter earnings guidance when it reports third quarter earnings after the close of the market on Nov. 16. The company will conduct its third quarter earnings call at 9 a.m. Eastern on Nov. 17.
