ITT Exelis (XLS) Awarded $20 Million Software Contract From Naval Air Systems Command

ITT Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has been awarded a $19.6 million contract for software enhancements to the F/A-18 Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) ALQ-214 Common On-board Jammer (OBJ).
The software upgrade will be incorporated into the IDECM ALQ-214(v)4/5 Common OBJ systems, that are installed on U.S. Navy F/A-18C/D/E/F aircraft.
Under the contract, awarded by the Naval Air Systems Command based in Patuxent River, Md., more than 230 Navy aircraft currently flying with the system will receive the new software beginning in 2015.
