Huaneng Power International, Inc. (NYSE: HNP) announces an increase in power generation to 144.704 kWh, a 3.08% increase over the same period in 2008.

The increase in the Company's power generation was mainly due to power generation contributed by the Company's newly acquired generating units and newly operating units.
