Google (GOOG) Looking to Launch Next Chromebook in Time for Holiday Shopping

Not wanting Microsoft to hog all the notebook glory, new entrant Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) should be debuting its next notebook PC sometime ahead of the holiday 2012 shopping season.
According to Digitimes, Google will be launching its next Chromebook lineup sometime before the end of 2012, preferably during the peak sales period of 2012.
The next Chrome OS will be released to more than one partner at a time, unlike its Android releases in the past.
Digitimes said the first vendor to launch a Chromebook is likely to be Lenovo, which is targeting emerging markets over mature ones.
With the upcoming launch of Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows 8 and the always-steadfast Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) OS X Lion still churning sales, it will be an interesting holiday for notebook/ultrabook/tablet sales.
Shares of Google are about 0.7 percent higher on the session.
