General Dynamics' (GD) Electric Boat Wins $268M Contract from US Navy

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) today announced that its Electric Boat subsidiary has won a $268 million contract modification from the US Navy to provide lead construction yard services for Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarines.

Under the modification, Electric Boat will maintain and update design drawings and data for all Virginia-class submarines, including technology insertions, throughout their construction and post-shakedown availability periods. In addition, Electric Boat will perform Virginia-class development and design studies.

General Dynamics Corporation provides business aviation; combat vehicles, weapons systems, and munitions; shipbuilding design and construction; and information systems, technologies, and services.
