GenCorp's Aerojet (GY) Awarded U.S. Missile Defense Agency Contract

Aerojet, a GenCorp (NYSE: GY) company, has been awarded a contract for the Kill Vehicle (KV) Commonality Pathfinder Divert and Attitude Control System (DACS) from the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The Aerojet propulsion system is designed to control the KV by firing individual thrusters to control the KV while homing for an intercept with a ballistic missile or its warhead. Under this contract, Aerojet will design, build and integrate a test KV DACS in order to increase government understanding of contractor DACS development capabilities and component technical maturity.
