Facebook (FB) Looks to Mobile for Additional Revenue
Since Facebook’s (FB) chief executive officer, Mark Zuckerberg, now needs to split the company’s profits in a few more pie slices, Facebook announced it would begin displaying ads to users on mobile devices.
The company hopes the move will increase sales substantially and looks to implement the change as soon as early March. In New York on February 29th, Facebook will be holding a conference for marketers where Carolyn Everson, the company’s vice-president of global marketing solutions, is expected to announce some of the changes the in which company will be undergoing.
Instead of regular advertisements, Facebook is looking at what it calls “sponsored stories.” The idea is companies will pay to display people’s endorsements or interactions with them in their friends’ list of online activity, reports CNBC.
Facebook filed its IPO last week and looks to be trading on the NYSE beginning in May.
