Environmental Tectonics (ETC) Wins $1.8M Contract from US Army for Hypobaric Chamber

Environmental Tectonics Corporation (Amex: ETC) today announced receipt of a contract valued at $1.8 million from the U.S. Army PEO STRI Acquisition Center for ETC's COTS Hypobaric Chamber. The Hypobaric Chamber will be supplied to the Colombia Air Force in Bogota, Colombia, South America, as part of the U.S. Government Foreign Military Sales program. The chamber will support training of personnel in altitude indoctrination flights. This will include pressure breathing exercises, combination flights, rapid decompression, oxygen equipment use and emergency procedures.

The chamber program will include an uninterrupted power supply, portable oxygen bottles, air conditioning system, closed circuit TV monitoring and recording, tools and test equipment, installation and spare parts.

This one year program will include both operator and maintenance training courses following installation in Bogota. ETC will also provide quarterly service visits for the first year of operation and provide any technical assistance required to supplement the training of both operator and maintenance personnel.
