Elephant Talk Communications Corp. (NYSE: ETAK) announced signing a new strategic partnership with Expeto, advancing Elephant Talk's mobility cloud platform capabilities into the Enterprise and IoT markets.
"We are very pleased to have partnered with Expeto in what we envision is a major step forward for both of our growing organizations. This is an exciting development in the evolution of Elephant Talk as we expand our cloud based mobile telecom, security and messaging platform services and software, including our patented voice-biometric and authentication offerings, into the enterprise mobility and IoT markets," said Hal Turner, CEO of Elephant Talk. "Our combined offerings create clear competitive advantage for both of our firms and represents the continued realization of our vision as a leading provider enabling and securing communications, transactions and applications for the connected world via our globally deployed cloud services," Mr. Turner concluded.
Elephant Talk and Expeto have agreed to collaborate to bring cloud based mobility services to enterprises and communications services providers. Together, with handset providers, distribution partners and key consumer brands, Elephant Talk and Expeto will leverage Elephant Talk's proprietary software and applications development capabilities. This complete network of partners enables businesses across the globe to effectively manage their data utilizing all IoT connected devices in trusted environments, while significantly reducing capital expenditure (Capex) constraints and driving significant value growth. The agreement includes revenue split terms related to subscriber growth.
"Expeto enables enterprises to fully control cellular data in a trusted way, inclusive of LTE data. Controlling and managing the LTE core network achieves this. The partnership with Elephant Talk brings together this capability with Elephant Talk's proven track record for its complete mobile platform, including unique billing, rating and policy management," said Ryley MacKenzie, CEO of Expeto. "We chose to work with Elephant Talk given their successful track record in the mobile virtual network enablement (MVNE) space - enabling mobile operators to resell capacity and create new brands, employing their innovative platform to help businesses to use their own underlying infrastructures to be successful. It is this proven track record and expertise that we believe ideally complement our own strong capabilities. I look forward to a fruitful and prosperous relationship," Mr. MacKenzie added.
As enterprises look to expand the services they offer to customers and employees, Communications Service Providers (CSPs) struggle to move beyond connectivity to offer the full capability for businesses looking to exploit IoT. In response, enterprises are seeking to utilize MVNO services themselves, allowing them to take control of their own operations and networks. The Elephant Talk - Expeto strategic partnership directly responds to this growing market demand, offering complete MVNO capability within trusted private networks. Gartner predicts, 'By 2018 the top 1000 global enterprises will implement MVNO capabilities of some scale in support of their IOT capabilities.'
