El Paso Electric (EE) Cancels Rate Call, Says El Paso City Needs Additional Time on Decision
El Paso Electric (NYSE: EE) announces that it is canceling the investor conference call scheduled for October 26, 2011 at 10 AM MT, the purpose of which was to update investors on the outcome of the City of El Paso’s hearing to consider establishing temporary rates. The City has advised the Company that it will postpone the date for the temporary rate hearing at its October 25, 2011 council meeting and is likely to reschedule the hearing for November 15, 2011 as the City needed additional time.
The Company intends to vigorously defend its rates, which were lawfully approved only last year by the City and the Public Utility Commission of Texas as just and reasonable.
