Coinstar (CSTR) Tops Q1 EPS by 7c; Guides Above for Q2 Revenues, In-line For FY

Coinstar, Inc. (Nasdaq: CSTR) reports Q1 EPS of $0.14 (ex-items), 7 cents better the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter was $271.2 million, versus the consensus of $261.88 million.

Management estimates that revenue for the second quarter of 2009 will range from $300 million to $310 million. In addition, management estimates GAAP earnings per fully taxed, fully diluted share will range from $0.14 to $0.20. (Consensus is $299.38 million and $0.17, respectively)

Management also reiterates its previous estimates that revenue for the full year 2009 will range from $1.2 billion to $1.3 billion vs. consensus of $1.24B.
