Chesapeake (CHK) Shares Surge Amid Report Icahn Now 'Major' Holder

Shares of Chesapeake (NYSE: CHK) are jumping in late-afternoon trade as Bloomberg is reporting Carl Icahn is now a "major" holder in the company. Bloomberg said Icahn may now own more than 4 percent of the company.

Notably, a similar but less specific rumor about Icahn and Chesapeake was heard on May 14th. Chesapeake shares jumped less than 5 percent during that day.

Chesapeake shares last traded up 3.11 percent to $15.56.
