CSC (NYSE: CSC), has signed a contract with Alstom to provide information technology (IT) infrastructure managed services. The contract, signed in the first quarter of CSC fiscal year 2013, has a five-year base term with services expected to commence in Fall 2012. The agreement is subject to regulatory and other approvals.

CSC is tasked with transforming Alstom’s global datacenter operations to increase innovation, enhance service quality and reduce ongoing costs. By leveraging its BizCloud® and Storage as a Service infrastructure solutions, CSC will provide Alstom with datacenter services, including server and storage consolidation and centralization using a mix of existing Alstom and CSC datacenters. BizCloud is the only private cloud on the customer’s premises of choice that combines the privacy, security and control of a private cloud, ready for workloads in 10 weeks, with a unique economic model. CSC’s Storage as a Service is a fully managed utility service that gives clients access to storage services on demand, enabling them to pay only for what they use while accommodating data growth without endless investments in storage infrastructure and technology refreshes.

CSC’s work will span across more than 50 countries to support Alstom’s global integration and expansion.
