    ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

    News Facts

-- CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA) today announced a new release of CA
Software Change Manager to help organizations better manage
and control globally distributed software change initiatives,
from request to release. By integrating CA Software Change
Manager r12 with CA Clarity, CA Service Desk Manager and CA
Software Delivery, CA offers customers the ability to
streamline software and operational change management
processes and more quickly respond to changing business
        opportunities and demands.

-- CA Software Change Manager r12 (formerly known as CA Harvest
Change Manager) is designed to support IPv6 and FIPS 140-2,
and includes more than 200 process and functionality
enhancements such as a completely new developer's interface
and modern development environment. Integrated software change
and build management are designed to result in higher quality
        applications and faster deployment cycles.

-- According to Enterprise Management Associates, more than 60
percent of all critical system and application outages are
caused by inappropriate change. An integrated solution of CA
Software Change Manager with CA Service Desk Manager and CA
Software Delivery helps organizations prioritize and quickly
deliver the right changes with a clear understanding of
service dependencies. This helps minimize service
interruptions and optimize application maintenance costs.

-- Organizations managing application portfolios with CA Clarity
and managing software change with CA Software Change Manager
benefit from the integration as they can better manage release
projects with greater confidence that the right governance
processes are in-place and projects are delivered on time.

-- This release is one of 10 new and enhanced Enterprise IT
Management (EITM) and Governance solutions CA has announced
today to help organizations address IT management issues
intensified by today's challenging economy by better adapting
to change, capitalizing on new opportunities and controlling
        costs.

-- New Features Help Prevent Business Disruptions:

-- New Developer Workbench - The new Eclipse(TM)-based,
full-featured interface is designed to optimize both
traditional and agile software development lifecycles,
supporting isolated and shared work areas for optimum
flexibility in development. CA Software Change Manager r12
also allows users to custom-configure their interface
giving them easier access to the information they need in
the way they want to see it for improved developer
            productivity.

-- Refactoring Support - CA Software Change Manager r12 is
designed to ease refactoring, including Java(TM)
refactoring, by automating the changes in the software
change management system. As programmers use refactoring
for more agile development, CA Software Change Manager
gives them the ability to rename files and paths of the
source code without breaking Builds. It also retains full
auditing, security permissions, and an archived history of
modifications with complete roll back support.

-- Work Area Synchronization - CA Software Change Manager r12
helps deliver higher quality code faster as it tracks,
analyzes and reconciles files that developers are working
on while disconnected, and then synchronizes easily with
the change management repository at any time, with full
control and management of code conflicts and Concurrent
            Development.

-- CA Software Change Manager r12 Premium Edition with OpenMake
Meister is designed to solve the cost, delay and compliance
problems associated with mismanaged builds. While continuing
to offer "build forensics" to bridge the production
application back to its source code and ease audit processes
for compliance needs, CA Software Change Manager r12 has
simplified the entire build process by integrating the
OpenMake user interface within the CA Software Change Manager
interface so developers can see the build while continuing to
        code.

-- CA is a leader in helping customers execute successful change
management across the enterprise. CA Software Change Manager
r12 with CA Endevor Software Change Manager is designed to
provide integrated and simultaneous release management for
distributed and mainframe platforms. This need has escalated
in recent years as businesses deploy SOA-based Web services on
the mainframe to support applications on a distributed
        platform.

said Stephen King, CEO OpenMake Software. "Modern development
requires continuous build management to be part of a complete
change solution for quality and compliance needs. CA Software
Change Manager r12 Premium Edition delivers that capability."

-- "Users increasingly seek integration across the broad swath of
change, system service and demand management products to be
able to succeed and survive with an increasingly chaotic and
unpredictable global economy," said Melinda Carol-Ballou, IDC
program director, Application Lifecycle Management & ITMS.
"And in an industry where compliance seems to touch every
aspect of IT, the ability to demonstrate control over the
software change process is being mandated by businesses to
support governance and corporate compliance initiatives."
