Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is higher early Tuesday following the announcement of its wildly-popular iPad tablet making its debut in China.

Specs on the new iPad are similar to that in the U.S., as well as the base price of $499 for a 16-GB model with WiFi. Apple will even be bringing the iPad 2 to China for $399.

Sales will begin on July 20th with reservation requests starting the day before.

News that Apple will begin selling its iPad in China comes just days after settling litigation with Proview over the iPad name. Proview and Apple came to a deal for $60 million, giving Apple full control of the iPad name in China.

Previous reports expected the iPad to come out on July 27th, making today's news even sweeter for Apple investors.

Shares are 0.5 percent better in early trading.
