American Water (AWK) Awarded Military Services Contract Worth $348 Million

American Water (NYSE: AWK) announced that its Military Services Group has been awarded a contract for ownership, operation and maintenance of the water and the wastewater systems at Fort Polk Army Installation, Louisiana. According to the agreement, the award of this contract is estimated at approximately $348 million over a 50-year period and is also subject to price re-determination.ervices for the next five decades and beyond.”

American Water’s Military Services Group, which is reported as part of American Water’s Contract Operations Group, currently operates and maintains the water and/or wastewater networks at Fort A.P. Hill, Va., Fort Bragg, N.C., Fort Sill, Okla., Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Scott Air Force Base, Ill., and Fort Rucker, Ala. American Water also recently announced that it was awarded the water and wastewater contract for Fort Hood, Texas.
