Jazz Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: JAZZ) 17.7% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.07, compared to a loss of $2.17 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $37.3 million, versus $15.5 million in Q208. Sees FY09 sales of $112-$122 million.
Clearwire Corporation (Nasdaq: CLWR) 11.3% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.38, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenue for the quarter was $63.6 million, versus the consensus of $65.24 million. Maintains FY09, FY10 outlook.
VisionChina Media (Nasdaq: VISN) 10.2% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.10, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.10. Revenue for the quarter was $30.8 million, versus the consensus of $30.75 million. Sees Q3 sales of $30.7-$32.1 million, versus the consensus of $36.23 million. Revises its FY09 sales guidance from $141-$157 million to $121-$124 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $137.56 million.
Bob Evans Farms (Nasdaq: BOBE) 8% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.52, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter was $429.5 million, versus the consensus of $435.80 million. Reaffirms FY10 forecast.
WuXi PharmaTech Co., Ltd. (NYSE: WX) 7.6% HIGHER; reports Q2 non-GAAP EPS of $0.24, 12 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.12. Revenue for the quarter was $67 million, versus the consensus of $63.73 million.
Melco Crown Entertainment Limited (Nasdaq: MPEL) 7.6% LOWER; today announced that it is commencing a public offering of 37,500,000 ADSs. Each ADS represents three ordinary shares of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited. In connection with the offering, Melco Crown Entertainment Limited expects to grant an option to purchase up to an additional 3,750,000 ADSs to the underwriters of the offering for the purpose of covering over-allotments.
Brookfield Properties Corporation (NYSE: BPO) 6.1% LOWER; has filed a registration statement on Form F-10 with the SEC, and a preliminary short form prospectus with the securities regulatory authorities in all provinces of Canada, in connection with a proposed public offering. It is anticipated that the company will issue to the public approximately US$450 million in common shares and grant the underwriters the option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the base offering size.
Apollo Investment Corporation (NASDAQ: AINV) 6% LOWER; announces that it plans to make a public offering of 15,000,000 shares of its common stock. Apollo Investment Corporation plans to also grant the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 2,250,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.
American Water (NYSE: AWK) 6% LOWER; today announced an offering of 30 million shares of common stock. Pursuant to the offering, all of the shares will be sold by the selling stockholder, a subsidiary of RWE AG, with proceeds going to RWE. The selling stockholder has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 4.5 million additional shares.
3SBio (Nasdaq: SSRX) 5% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.18, ex-items, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $11.9 million, versus the consensus of $10.57 million.
Paragon Shipping (Nasdaq: PRGN) 4.3% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.51, ex-items, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter was $38.52 million, versus the consensus of $36.06 million.
FMC Corp. (NYSE: FMC) 3.5% HIGHER; will replace Centex Corp. (NYSE: CTX) in the S&P 500.
AAON Inc. (NASDAQ: AAON) 3.5% HIGHER; will replace Informatica (Nasdaq: INFA) in the S&P SmallCap 600.
Applied Materials (Nasdaq: AMAT) 3.3% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.00, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.08). Revenue for the quarter was $1.13 billion, versus the consensus of $958.42 million. On the call, said it sees Q4 sales up 10-20% from Q3. Sees Q4 EPS of break-even to $0.04. Both are well ahead of the Street consensus.
Cree Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE) 3% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.18 adjusted, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenue for the quarter was $148.1 million, versus the consensus of $146.46 million. Sees Q1 EPS 21c to 23c versus 17 cents consensus. Sees Q1 revs $160M to $166M versus consensus $151 million.
HearUSA (AMEX: EAR) 2.9% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.03, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenue for the quarter was $22.7 million, versus the consensus of $22.61 million.
