Abbott (ABT) and AstraZeneca (AZN) to Co-Promote CRESTOR(R)

Abbott (NYSE: ABT) and AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN) today announced that they have entered into an agreement for Abbott to promote AstraZeneca's CRESTOR(R), a medication used along with diet to reduce high cholesterol.

Under the terms of the agreement, Abbott will obtain the non-exclusive right to promote CRESTOR alongside AstraZeneca in the United States, excluding Puerto Rico. Specific financial terms were not disclosed.

Abbott Laboratories engages in the development, manufacture, and sale of health care products worldwide.

AstraZeneca PLC discovers, develops, manufactures, and markets prescription pharmaceuticals, biologics, and vaccines in the areas of cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neuroscience, oncology, respiratory and inflammation, and infection worldwide.
