American Airlines (AMR) Reports August Traffic Fell 2.9% Y/Y

American Airlines, a subsidiary of AMR Corp. (NYSE: AMR) today reported a August load factor of 83.5%, a decline of 1.5 points versus the same period last year. Traffic decreased 2.9% and capacity decreased 1.1% year over year.

Domestic traffic decreased 5.6% Y/Y on 2.9% less capacity. International traffic increased by 2.1% relative to last year on a capacity increase of 2.0%.

American boarded 8.4 million passengers in August.

AMR Corporation, through its subsidiaries, operates as a scheduled passenger airline in the United States.
