Shocking on various levels... on Apple's big day, mobile giant Verizon (NYSE: VZ) threw smartphone-has-been Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) a bone.
In a question about Verizon keeping its options open to different operating systems in light of the Apple versus Samsung case, which went against Samsung and android, CFO Francis J. Shammo said don't count RIM out yet.
"Don't count RIM out yet, they could come back to the marketplace with an innovate product."
Shammo also said Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) can make a mark in the industry, which of course would be beneficially to Nokia (NYSE: NOK) with its Lumina lineup.
"Obviously Microsoft has a hold in the enterprise space and there really is no reason why they - if this is a good product, there is no reason why they can win in that space," the executive said.
