Notable ETF Movers of the Day 12/10: (IBB) (FXI) Higher; (DBA) Lower

Gainers:

iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology (Nasdaq: IBB) gained 1.5 percent to 138.9 with broad strength across the sector. VIVUS, Inc. (Nasdaq: VVUS) was among the winners, gaining 4 percent on news sales of its weight loss drug, Qsymia , rose over the Thanksgiving holiday.

iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund (NYSE: FXI) gained 1.5 percent to 139. China released a slew of economic data over the weekend, including November CPI, industrial production data, and retails sales figures. On the whole, investors see improvements in China’s weakened economy.

Decliners:

PowerShares DB Agriculture (NYSE: DBA) declined 1 percent to 28.50. Corn and wheat futures traded lower on Monday, shedding 1 and 1.2 percent respectively. However, the biggest loser in commodities today was coffee, with prices declining 4 percent. Sugar and cocoa prices were also lower.
