Natural Gas at $3.20 as Nuclear Outages Total 7800 MW (UNG)

Nuclear power outages on Monday equaled 7800 megawatts, or 8 percent of U.S. capacity, according to Reuters data. This was down from Friday’s 8200 megawatts, and above the 5500 megawatt outage from a year ago. The five-year average outage rate for this time of year is 4300 megawatts.

The National Weather service’s six- to 10-day outlook is for above-normal temperatures for most the country.

United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) is extending this morning's rally and is now higher by 5.5 percent. Natural gas futures trade at just under $3.20 per million BTU.
