June 19, 2013 5:17 PM EDT
Zynga (Nasdaq: ZNGA) is progressing slowly but surely into the realm of real-money gaming.

According to TechCrunch, the company has gobbled up Spooky Cool Labs, which is made up of developers from companies like Aristocrat Leisure and IGT (NYSE: IGT), both are purveyors of slot machines for casinos.

Spooky Cool's 40-person team will stay at its Chicago location and work with Zynga's San Francisco-based social casino gaming team, TC notes.

Zynga has Zynga Plus Casino and Zynga Plus Poker currently in operation in the U.K. Both are real-money games, but there is no word on an effort to launch similar offerings on Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) or in the U.S.

Shares of Zynga are flat in late trading.
