Struggling BlackBerry (BBRY) Could Bring BBM to WP8 Soon (MSFT) (AAPL) (GOOG)

While BlackBerry's (BBRY) BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) app has done well on Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android and Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS, there's still at least one frontier to conquer: Windows Phone 8.

WMPoweruser cites the deliciously-named @BlackBerryScoop account on Twitter in saying that, despite Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and BlackBerry having largely been competitors for third-spot in the global smartphone race, BlackBerry might opt to bring its most popular app to WP8.

No timing has been speculated on launch of the app, though an astute observer might quip that BlackBerry needed to have this done yesterday.

Shares of BlackBerry are down about 0.4 percent Monday, having been relatively motionless for most of the trading session.
