NORWOOD, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- To remain at the forefront of compliance with crucial industry standards, Siemens Process Industries and Drives is proud to announce that it can manufacture induction motors which achieve the 541 5th edition common performance standards, set forth by the American Petroleum Institute.

The Siemens Above NEMA motors are available in a power range up 13.5 MW (18,000 HP), and with voltages up to 13,800 volts, as well as designs for use on adjustable speed drives, including the Siemens PH180 (Perfect Harmony). Motors are available in a variety of mounting configurations and enclosure options, including WP-II, TEFC, TEAAC and TEWAC.

“We modified our induction motor offerings to ensure our customers remain on the cutting edge of today’s standards,” said Mark Cooksey, General Manager LD AP CRM. “This was in direct response to requests from the market, and we’re excited to be a partner that can deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers.”

Published in December 2014, the institute’s revised guidelines provide new construction features, new and better-defined testing options and reformatted data sheets for a customer to more accurately specify and document their motor requirements.

Siemens is widely recognized as the global leader in supply of reliable, low-vibration high speed motors (2-pole, 3600 RPM and above) motors, meeting the oil & gas industry’s demand for API 541 applications.

The motors are manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility in Norwood, Ohio. The plant is certified to ISO 9001 quality standards and ISO 4001 environmental standards.

Siemens Process Industries and Drives helps its customers increase productivity, safety, reliability, efficiency and time-to-market for plants and processes with innovative, integrated technology across the entire lifecycle.
