Online brokers are notably stronger Tuesday as Congressional Subcommittee hearings on high-frequency trading start today. The stocks could be seeing a sell the rumors... buy the news reaction as questions about payment for order-flow has rocked the industry since Michael Lewis' 'Flash Boys' was released on March 31, 2014.
E TRADE Financial (NASDAQ: ETFC) is up 6.5%, Charles Schwab (NYSE: SCHW) is up 4.8%, TD Ameritrade (NASDAQ: AMTD) is up 4.5%, and Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: IBKR) is up 2.3%.
