Microsoft's (MSFT) Newest Web Browser Already Making Waves (GOOG) (AAPL)

October was a bust month for Internet browsers and there were some interesting trends.
TheNextWeb noted today that Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11), Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Chrome 30, and Mozilla's Firefox 25 were all released last month.
According to Net Applications' data, Internet Explorer made a 0.42 point gain from September to October, with the browser controlling 58.22 percent of the global market.
Firefox saw a 0.1 point jump to 18.7 percent of the market. Chrome slipped 0.54 points to 15.42 percent, and Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) Safari made a modest 0.07 point gain to 5.84 percent.
At 58.22 percent, IE is at a new high for the year, which was last seen in January.
Also, IE 10 saw a 0.49 point drop, while IE 11 -- which was packaged with Windows 8.1 -- saw a 0.58 point climb.
Shares of Microsoft are up 0.3 percent Friday.
