Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is on watch following a report that orders for two key hardware products might be lighter than expected in the current quarter, though things may improve in early 2016.
Digitimes, citing upstream supply chain sources, said that shipments for the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 have been weak in Q4, due in part to Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) Skylake processor shortages and postponement of some orders until Q1.
Shipments for the Surface Book are expected to exceed 100,000 units per month in Q1, while Surface Pro 4 shipments may exceed 200,000 units for the same period.
Overall, Microsoft's orders are expected to be stronger than peers in Q1.
