So, you like that iPad?
Not for long, Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) says. The Redmond, WA-based software giant has set up a website which will allow consumers to compare its Surface RT versus the likes of Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) 64-GB iPad, ASUStek VivoTab Smart, Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) XPS 10, and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) ENVY x2.
WindowsPhoneCentral noted that the comparison will include such features as multitasking, pricing, weight, display size, and other tablet features important to consumers.
We're not sure if Microsoft is aware of this, but most people are currently buying mobile devices mainly for the ecosystem, such as that that iOS and Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android sport. Microsoft should keep advertising to put the Surface at the forefront of consumers' minds when shopping, but it might be a little more effective once the next generation Xbox One and Windows 8.1 are released.
Anyway, do you dare to compare?
Microsoft shares are up 0.4 percent on Friday's session.
