Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) is said to have launched its new FB@Work platform, which is geared more to the enterprise environment.
TechCrunch noted Wednesday that Facebook has launched apps for Android and iOS titled "Work," while Facebook at Work will also be accessible via the company's main website.
FB@Work allows businesses to create their own social networks amongst employees which will look and act like regular Facebook.
Competitors in the space include Microsoft’s (Nasdaq: MSFT) Yammer, Slack, Convo, and Socialcast, among others.
The initial aim of the launch will be companies with 100 or more employees.
No adds or apps from Facebook Platform will work with Work yet.
Shares of Facebook are moderately positive in early trading.
