Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) robust product ecosystem provides it to be a leader in one oft overlooked segment.
According to Adobe Digital Index, Apple tops peers in authenticated and unauthenticated streaming video viewing. The company's iOS devices also represent nearly all of unauthenticated mobile video viewing.
ADI said, Apple devices currently drive 62% of all authenticated pay-for-TV video views.
Apple TV also accounted for 10 percent of authenticated video viewing, but led the segment for connected devices with 10 percent market share. Roku was next best at 8 percent. Total connected TV growth was 18 points from 6 percent in Q114 up to 24 percent last quarter.
The total share of TV everywhere authentications by access type was dominated by iOS, with 47 percent share, versus 15 percent for Android.
Shares of Apple are modestly lower Thursday.
