Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) isn't letting Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) move into Japan on its own.
According to reports out Thursday, Amazon will bring Prime Video to the Land of the Rising Sun this fall.
While the content lineup hasn't been revealed, Amazon said Prime Video will have thousands of popular Japanese and U.S. movies and TV shows, anime series, music concerts and variety shows, plus Amazon's own award-winning originals and new Japanese originals.
Prime is priced at ¥3900 (about $32) per year, versus $99 per year in the U.S., though Japan is missing out on some features available in the States.
Amazon and Netflix are both trading positive early Thursday.
