Cantor Fitzgerald reiterates a 'Buy' on Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: SNSS) price target raised to $8.00.
Analyst, Mara Goldstein, said, "Following a planned interim analysis of the VALOR study, Sunesis will expand the patient enrollment of the study by 225 patients. This news suggests that the trial is trending in the "promising zone" and thus represents a positive outcome of the analysis. With this major milestone now behind the company, the shares should be free to trade on the likelihood of the trial and the market potential for vosaroxin."
"While investment focus is centered on VALOR and vosaroxin, licensed products represent a source of upside. MLN2480 is a pan RAF-inhibitor being developed by Millennium Pharmaceuticals (Takeda), and Sunesis has an option to opt-in to development after Phase I. In addition, the Biogen Idec (Nasdaq: BIIB) licensing deal is beginning to get some visibility, as Sunesis received a milestone payment from this collaboration in 2Q:12."
