Leerink Swann upgraded Vivus (NASDAQ: VVUS) to Outperform.
Analyst, Joshua Schimmer, said, "Yesterday, the FDA advisory panel voted 20-2 for approval of Qnexa. Although some panel members expressed concerns about the need for a CV outcomes trial, it did not deter them from voting in favor of approval. We expect Qnexa to generate significant sales upon 3Q12 launch and VVUS could become an attractive asset for a company seeking to leverage its primary care salesforce. We upgrade to Outperform and raise our valuation to high $20's."
