Jefferies analyst, David Windley reiterated his Buy rating on shares of Anthem (NYSE: ANTM) with the stock at the cheapest valuation in the group (<12x '17 P/E). The quarter was tough though with exchanges expected to lose money and Medicaid earnings lower than projected (IA a heavier lift). SG&A cuts bridge the gap. On the positive side, membership and premiums are trending higher. Looking into 2017, Exchange and IA losses should mitigate.
Nonetheless, lower visibility prompts the analyst to trim his PT and EPS projections as the price target falls to $156.00 (from $157.00).
