William Blair downgraded shares of Interline Brands (NYSE: IBI) today to a market perform rating and shares are currently trading down 6.95 percent on the day.

The firm believes the company's maintenance-product distributor will continue to post "lackluster organic sales growth and limited operating leverage," which will in turn continue to bring disappointment to its investors. William Blair doesn't see any chance of improving organic growth as the the overall economy continues to show slow growth.

An analyst at William Blair comments, "Our thesis that recovery in the apartment/single-family markets combined with significant cost takeout to drive healthy free cash flow growth is not playing out as expected. Deals have not integrated well, and growth investment has not been effective to accelerate sales."
