Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 10/14: XL, NCC, HBAN, KEY Higher; ES, RBS, PIR, DPZ Lower
XL Capital Ltd (NYSE: XL) 46.2% HIGHER; the majority of the financial sector is higher today on U.S. capital injection in banks. Separately, it was also disclosed that Chairman Brian O'Hara was forced to sell 80% of his shares due to margins calls.
National City (NYSE: NCC) 41.3% HIGHER; seeing substantial upside following the Fed's announcement that the government will inject $250 billion in banks. Shares of National City are up about 63% this week.
Huntington Bancshares (Nasdaq: HBAN) 37.6% HIGHER; this regional bank is responding very positively to today's announcement from the government. Notably, shares of Huntington were actually down yesterday desipte the largest point gain in the history of the stock market.
EnergySolutions (NYSE: ES) 37.1% LOWER; announced last night that the financial crisis has delayed the company's ability to accelerate the decommissioning of identified nuclear power plant assets, a key growth initiative of the company. As a result, EnergySolutions sees FY08 EPS in the range of $0.50-$0.60, versus the consensus of $0.69.
KeyCorp (NYSE: KEY) 34.8% HIGHER; regional banks seem to be the most volatile part of the financial sector today.
Royal Bank of Scotland (NYSE: RBS) 33.2% LOWER; despite the initiatives undertaken by the US government, European banks are not trading similarly to US banks: the majority are seeing substantial downside today.
Pier 1 Imports (NYSE: PIR) 32.4% LOWER; since reporting disappointing September same store sales on Thursday of last week, shares of Pier 1 have fallen nearly 50%.
Domino's Pizza (NYSE: DPZ) 30.2% LOWER; reports Q3 earnings of $0.13 per share, ex-items, below the consensus of $0.21. Revenues came in at $323.6 million, versus the consensus of $336.8 million.

Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) 20.3% HIGHER; following yesterday's remarkable 85% jump in shares of Morgan Stanley, the stock is adding another 20% today, marking a double from last Friday's closing price of $9.68.
JA Solar (Nasdaq: JASO) 17.8% LOWER; this solar stock is giving up all of its gains from yesterday after being downgraded by Canaccord Adams this morning. The firm cut its investment rating on JA from Buy to Hold.
