The results beat Wall Street estimates. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected earnings of 76 cents per share on $1.4 billion in revenue, on average.

Hunt Gold Corporation (PINKSHEETS: HGLC): Hunt Gold traded has high as $.01 on massive volume of over 88 million shares on share buyback and sale of their American Molygold mining interests.

General Motors (NYSE: GM): Shares of U.S. automakers rocketed Wednesday as Wall Street took comfort in GM's announcement that it was cutting its work force and production and suspending its dividend in an effort to stay solvent in an increasingly challenging market.
