Traders are watching Tesla Motors, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) today as customers will finally get their hands on the much-anticipated Model S.
With the launch, press reviews of the slick-looking electric car will start rolling in. This can be both good and bad.
The Model S claims 0-60 MPH in 5.6 seconds, 300 max miles per shares and 'zero' emissions.
Analysts at Goldman Sachs believes this will be a catalyst. They said if the Model S delivers from a performance standpoint, investors will get amped up for the higher volume Gen 3. They don't believe the next generation vehicle is priced into the stock and this could force the 46% shares that are short to cover.
On the other hand, analysts at Capstone said new-car bugs could wreck things for the up start. They said the stock is priced for perfection. That said, they would wait until the euphoria around the launch to subside before initiating short positions or selling long positions.
