Goldman Sachs today maintained a Buy rating on T-Mobile US (NYSE: TMUS) and raised its price target to $26.00 (from $23.00). Th new price target accounts for an increased M&A component in Goldman's valuation for T-Mobile US.

"Strategic activity in US Wireless remains in the spotlight, with recent data points indicating continued interest from new entrants. As such, we are increasingly bullish on the strategic value associated with T-Mobile, which we believe could offer the last chance for a new entrant looking to control a nationwide wireless network," said Analyst Matthew Niknam. "We believe T-Mobile's valuable spectrum and (nationwide) network assets give it strategic value that could potentially attract a number of industry players."
