Piper Jaffray Said Early NPD Data Suggests 10.5-11M Apple (AAPL) iPod Units in June Qtr

Piper Jaffray comments on Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL), saying the first month of NPD data suggests 10.5-11 million iPod units in the June quarter.

Analyst Gene Munster notes that historical seasonality suggests a 6% sequential decline, or ~10 million iPods, where the midpoint of the 10.5-11 million range suggests a 1% sequential increase.

The firm views the data point as a slight positive.
