Analyst, Chris Kotowski, said, "We had a chance to meet with MS's Paul Taubman, Co-President of the Institutional Securities Group. Taubman began his career at MS as an M&A banker before heading up the M&A practice in 2003, Investment Banking in 2007, before assuming his current role in late 2009. Our questions for him covered three broad areas—management philosophy, the current environment and RWA reduction program highlighted on the 2Q call—and some more specific topics like the Moody's downgrade and the MUFG partnership. Our positive opinion on the stock is unchanged as we believe that over time MS will structure its businesses to earn a competitive return on equity and that that is not reflected in a stock at 50% of TBV."
