Oppenheimer maintains an 'Outperform' on Lincoln Educational Services (NASDAQ: LINC) price target of $7.50 (from $9.00).
Analyst, Scott Schneeberger, said, "LINC delivered 2Q12 adj'd EPS of -$0.14, which outperformed our est/consensus/guidance of -$0.18/-$0.16/-$0.18 to -$0.14. Revenue was slightly below expectations/guidance; however, -4.4% operating margin topped our est/consensus of -5.5%/-4.7% on expense management. 2Q12 +18% y/y starts topped our est/consensus of +12%/+8%, though 3Q12 start guidance of -10% y/y was below expectation primarily on the announced 2H12 closures of 7 campuses educating mainly "ability-to-benefit" (ATB) students. Although the campus closings reduce our 2012E EPS to $0.06 from $0.25, they're anticipated to be accretive to 2013E EPS by $0.21. We're tempering our 2013E EPS from $0.70 to $0.60."
