Oppenheimer maintains a Perform rating on TASER International (NASDAQ: TASR) following an industry conference. Analyst Andrew Uerkwitz says that TASR's direct sale method (vs competitors using resellers) allows better access to provide support.
Uerkwitz commented on the event, saying, "Last week we spent time at the International Association Chiefs of Police's Law Enforcement Information Management Conference and Expo (IACP LEIM Conference). It's a forum for agencies to share information, learn best practices, and see the latest in law enforcement technology. We listened to several symposiums on body cameras, evidence management, and cloud security. The key takeaways: 1) agency priorities for body cams/evidence management are ease of use, automation, and support; 2) every agency we spoke with held a high regard for TASER; 3) there lacks a cohesive adoption strategy for technology and this varies widely between agencies; 4) agency-wide adoption takes multiple years."
