Nomura Securities on Software: Stocks we like in a more difficult environment in 2012:
Analyst, Rick Sherlund, said, "Our coverage faces more difficult yoy comparisons in 2012 as well as a tough enterprise spending environment. We believe investors must look for stocks with product cycle stories or catalysts to accelerate growth and improve investor sentiment. Thoughts on selected stocks follow: Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) (Buy, $32): Attractive valuation and HW inflection in Fs 2Q (Nov); SAP (NYSE: SAP) (Buy, PT EUR58): Stock should do better into seasonally stronger 2nd half; Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) (Buy, PT $155): 1Q’13 weakness could provide buying opportunity; Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) (Buy, PT $37); Four major new products ship later this year."
