Nomura Securities maintains a 'Buy' on Shire plc (NASDAQ: SHPGY).

Analyst, Bhuna Signhal, said, "The FDA has approved a generic version of Adderall-XR (10% of EPS). The EMA has rejected Pfizer’s Taliglucerase, a potential competitor to Shire’s Vpriv (10% of EPS). We had previously flagged that (given the FDA’s recent approval of a generic version of another ADHD drug) Adderall-XR will go generic and had removed the drug from our model. Therefore, the FDA news makes little change to our 11% EPS CAGR forecast for Shire. We do, however, make changes to reflect possible earlier onset of sales erosion than previously anticipated and lower 2012-14E EPS by 3-8%."
