Nomura Securities Global Strategy: Stock Ideas for a World of Hurt
Analyst Michael Kurtz, said, "Stock ideas for a world of hurt. We still ‘like’ stocks, and risk, on a medium-term view. In fact, from our perspective, what began as a mundane dip-buying opportunity not so many weeks ago has now morphed into potentially the asset-class opportunity of a generation. Stocks may look quite compelling compared to bonds right now, but we have to admit that the near-term fears and uncertainties underpinning an extreme valuation gap may linger for a while. They may yet worsen before they get better. However, in a 5.0% nominal GDP growth world, we think this is too high an opportunity cost to pay for safety. We outline our best ideas using the following characteristics: dividend yield plays, growth defensives, organic growth and structural thematic drivers."
Nomura has a Buy on SanDisk (Nasdaq: SNDK), Cognizant (Nasdaq: CTSH), and Marriott (NYSE: MAR). Nomura has a Neutral rating on priceline.com (Nasdaq: PCLN),V MWare (NYSE: VMW) and Western Union (NYSE: WU)
