Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOMX) 41.6% HIGHER; today announced that it has resubmitted its New Drug Application to the U.S. FDA for Silenor(R) (doxepin) for the treatment of insomnia. Click here for the full report.

Real Goods Solar (NASDAQ: RSOL) 34.6% HIGHER; announced it has signed a contract to design and install solar electric systems totaling 3.65 megawatts for the Fremont Union High School District in Sunnyvale, Cupertino and west San Jose, California. Click here for the full report.

XTENT (Nasdaq: XTNT) 26% HIGHER; continuing higher today following yesterday's 400% jump (moved from $0.30 to $1.50 by the close). The company announced that it received conditional approval from the US FDA for an Investigational Device Exemption authorizing it to begin its pivotal clinical program, composed of two pivotal trials called CUSTOM IV and CUSTOM IV Angio to support the approval in the United States of its Custom NX(R) Drug Eluting Stent System.

Generex Biotechnology Corp. (Nasdaq: GNBT) 22.2% HIGHER; the stock jumped 79% yesterday on heightened swine flu fears and is continuing higher today.

Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) 20.3% HIGHER; raises its Q2 sales view from plus or minus 5% sequentially, to flat to up 5% sequentially.

Euro Tech Holdings Company Limited (Nasdaq: CLWT) 18.1% HIGHER; announced that its associated company, Zhejiang Tianlan Desulfurization and Dust-Removal Co. Ltd. in Zhejiang, China has recently been awarded five contracts totally $7.2 million by various companies in China. The contracts cover design, manufacture, supply, and commissioning of desulphurization equipment for various applications.

Jackson Hewitt (NYSE: JTX) 17.7% HIGHER; Oppenheimer upgrades JTX from Perform to Outperform.

Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (AMEX: HEB) 17.6% HIGHER; continuing higher once again this morning following yesterday's 47% jump. Traders are reacting positivitly to news yesterday that Japanese National Institute of Infectious Diseases scientists identify Hemispherx Biopharma's drug technology as the "most promising mucosal adjuvant for influenza."

C&D Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: CHP) 14.7% HIGHER; reports Q1 loss of $0.37, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter was $73.7 million, versus the consensus of $75.20 million.

Rio Tinto plc (NYSE: RTP) 11% HIGHER; are higher after the mining company terminated its deal with Aluminium Corporation of China (NYSE: ACH), in favor of a share sale and iron ore venture with BHP Billiton (NYSE: BHP). Click here for the full report.

Union Drilling, Inc. (Nasdaq: UDRL) 10.2% LOWER; today announced that it has priced a public offering of 3.0 million newly issued shares of its common stock at a public offering price of $8.25 per share.

XOMA (Nasdaq: XOMA) 10.1% HIGHER; today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with certain institutional investors to sell 10,434,782 units, with each unit consisting of one of the Company's common shares and a warrant to purchase 0.50 of a common share, for gross proceeds of approximately $12.0 million, before deducting placement agent fees and estimated offering expenses, in a "registered direct" offering.

Cascade Corporation (NYSE: CAE) 10.1% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $1.12, versus the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $76.3 million, versus the consensus of $87.57 million.

MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: MWE) 10% LOWER; announced today that it priced its public offering of 2,900,000 common units at $18.15 per common unit.

First Community Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCBC) 8.3% LOWER; priced a public offering of 4.6 million shares of common stock at $12.50 per share for gross proceeds of $57.5 million.

Exide Technologies (Nasdaq: XIDE) 6.7% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.03, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.22). Revenue for the quarter was $654.3 million, versus the consensus of $760.17 million.

It rose based upon the anticipated results of a diabetes drug that should be released Monday, June 8th.
