Oppenheimer analyst Shaul Eyal reiterated an Outperform rating and bumped his price target on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) to $50.00 (from $45.00) following Q2 results.
Eyal commented, "MSFT delivered another solid quarter when brushing off the NOK acquisition effects. MSFT continues to see broad-based strength and had very solid quarters from the cloud ($4.4B annualized run-rate) & server business segments. Optically, results won't look good in comparison to the previous quarters but we would remind investors that newer initiatives are working and the revamped strategy seems to be paying off. We remain positive on the shares, reiterating our Outperform rating while increasing our PT to $50 from $45."
The firm is introducing quarterly estimates for FY15, with 1Q15 revenue/EPS estimates of $21.8B/$0.51. They are adjusting FY15 estimate to $100.2B/$2.91 from $91.1B/$2.91. They are also introducing FY16 estimates of $110.1B/$3.17.
